Ocean Carbon Technology · Cape Verde
Not crazy. Not entirely, at least. We grow seaweed forests in the Atlantic Ocean to absorb CO₂, produce organic fertilizer and give every family their own piece of ocean.
How it works
We grow Gracilaria seaweed in the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Verde. It grows year-round, absorbs CO₂ every day and is transformed into useful products for the planet.
Seaweed grows on longlines suspended below the surface. No soil, no pesticides, no fresh water.
Every hectare of Gracilaria absorbs up to 154 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Certified and measurable.
The tropical waters of Cape Verde allow continuous growth with no seasonal downtime.
Harvested seaweed becomes organic liquid fertilizer, animal feed, cosmetics and bioplastics.
Our products
Nothing is wasted. Every kilo of harvested seaweed is transformed into something useful — a fully circular supply chain.
Our mission
"YourOcean is not here just to make a difference in the global ecosystem.
We are here to give every family, every individual, the chance to play their part."
YourOcean cannot save the world. Together we can.
Our Story
Hi, I'm Valerio. One day, looking at my plants on my balcony in Ireland, I wondered — am I actually making a difference against CO₂ emissions? Spoiler: I wasn't. Not even close.
But I didn't give up. After some research, I discovered that there's actually a way for everyone to own a piece of the solution — and it's been hiding in the ocean all along.
Seaweed. 5× more efficient than trees at absorbing CO₂. No land, no pesticides, no fresh water. Useful for everything from agriculture to cosmetics.
That idea became YourOcean.
Why "Your" Ocean? Because together, making a difference is much easier than we think.
